  • Increased Messaging – 67% of global respondents in 2017 Facebook survey increased use of messaging apps to communicate with others, biggest increase in past two years
  • Online Interaction – Nearly half of responents also increased use of social media (48%), email (47%) and video chat (47%) during same period
  • Traditional Communication – Around one-third of respondents also saw an increase in use of traditional communication channels such as face-to-face conversations and phone calls
  • Sending Letters – Only small percent of respondents increased use of typed and written letters in 2017
  • Key Growth Drivers – Include increasing social media and messaging applications penetration, continuously improving network connectivity, and growing user preference for online channels to communicate
