Proof Point Findings
- Global AI Adoption – 42% of companies in PwC survey have AI initiatives in place in 2019, while 35% have no plans to do so currently and 23% plan to do it in three years
- Leading Regional Adopters – Western Europe leads AI adoption, with 49% already introduced AI initiatives in 2019, followed by North America (47%) and Asia Pacific (45%)
- Lagging Regions – More than 60% of companies in Latin America, Central and East Europe, Middle East and Africa have not yet introduced AI initiatives in 2019
- Skills Stalling Progress – PwC attributes AI progress to difficulty in hiring talent skilled in using AI-based systems
- Key Growth Drivers – Include accelerating sophistication of AI technologies, increasing adoption of AI and automation technologies to improve business capabilities, and growing demand to leverage technologies to become more competitive
