  • Improving Expertise – 34% of respondents also increased IT security investment to improve their level of expertise in 2018, while 29% were asked by top management to improve defenses
  • Business Activities and Requirements – Other top motivation include expanding business activities (25%) and meeting compliance requirements (25%)
  • Recent Incidents – Security incidents that affected other organizations (24%) or experienced by own company (21%) also prompted some respondents to increase IT security in 2018
  • Key Growth Drivers – Include improving IT infrastructure, increasing number and sophistication of global cyberattacks, and growing volume of data and business processes migrated to cloud
