- Bose AR – Bose introduced Bose AR, world’s first audio-based augmented reality platform, at SXSW 2018
- Audible Information – Technology knows what user is looking at with motion sensors, without integrated lens or phone camera, and adds audible information and experiences to real world environment
- Device Features – Built with acoustics package that can be integrated into headphones, eyewear, and helmets, along with Bluetooth connectivity, and support for voice assistants, such as Apple’s Siri and Google Assistant
- Sample Applications – Include hearing information about landmarks, translating signs, and getting directions when traveling
- Collaborations – Working with developers and manufacturers,(e.g. ASICS Studio, Strava, TripAdvisor, TuneIn, and Yelp) to create applications for Bose AR, with software development kit available in summer 2018
- $50 Million Investment – Will invest $50 million in startups that will develop apps, services, and technologies for Bose AR
