- Alexa for Hospitality – E-commerce giant Amazon announced Alexa for Hospitality, new service that will see Alexa and Echo devices deployed to hotel rooms to assist and entertain travelers
- Marriot Partnership – Echo devices will roll out in Marriott hotels in summer 2018, including Westin Hotels & Resorts, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Aloft Hotels, and Autograph Collection Hotels
- Functionalities – Include being able to ask for hotel information, connect personal Amazon account, contact front desk and housekeeping, order wine or book spa appointment, make calls, control appliances, such as TVs, lights, and thermostats, play music, and more
- Other Hotels – Alexa also being tested in vacation rental properties from RedAwning and boutique lifestyle hotels including Thompson Hotels, Joie de Vivre, Destination Hotels, and Alila
- Feedback and Improvement – Marriott rollout will be used to obtain feedback from guests, driving improvements of Alexa hotel functionalities
