  • New Smartphone AI – Samsung announced Bixby, new artificial intelligence for smartphone that debuted along with launch of Galaxy S8
  • Voice Interface – Lets users control their phone through using natural language, with dedicated Bixby button for easy access to smart assistant
  • Bixby Vision – Adds vision capability, allowing users to take photo, for example, and retrieve more information about landmarks, products, and restaurants, with Bixby also able to read QR codes and bar codes, and translate street signs and foreign menus
  • Reminder Setter – Helps users set reminders for important events and tasks, combined with contextual awareness that enables people to tell Bixby relative time when they should be reminded of tasks and events (e.g. after work, tomorrow morning)
  • More Intuitive – Works like Google Now cards, displaying content and activity across apps that are important to users, such as frequent contacts and recently played music, enabled by app integration, with content changing depending on user’s schedule
  • App and Device Integration – Plans to release software developer kit (SDK) for developers to integrate their apps with Bixby and add more Bixby-compatible devices
