  • Smartpilot System – Can navigate autonomously in straight line without human help if in Linear Mode and can make turns on its own if on Auto Mode, with onboard GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) module and optional ground-located base station helping it to know its location
  • Benefits – Removes burden of laborious work, addresses labor shortages due to aging population, contributes to more accurate planting, and saves space by planting more rice seedlings in single tray compared to regular transplanter
  • Commercial Availability – Will be sold in Japan beginning February 1, 2019, with price ranging from ¥3,955,000 to ¥5,545,000 (about $35,230 to $49,392)
