- Shapeways-EOS Partnership – Shapeways is partnering again with EOS to offer and produce ready-made orthoses and prostheses for designers and businesses
- Initial Partnership – Previous partnership between two companies was for launch of Shapeways in 2007, where EOS supplied dozens of additive manufacturing machines to Shapeways’ facility
- New Prosthetics Material – Shapeways is introducing PA11, new biodegradable nylon material derived from castor oil, built for 3D printing prosthetics, to medical customers cost-effectively
- Material Properties – Include elasticity, strength, flexibility and impact-resistance, available in natural white finish but can also be dyed to any color
- Other Medical Uses – Material can also be used to create braces, insoles, and other exterior medical needs
