- Open Source 3D Printer – Lumi Industries released open-source instructions for users to download and build their own resin 3D printer called LumiBee in January 2020
- 3D Printed Parts – Customers need desktop filament 3D printer to print 95% of LumiBee’s parts, with the rest to be purchased, including motors, printed circuit board, 4-millimeter linear rods and bearings
- Smartphone-Operated – Uses light of old smartphone to form 3D printed object from photosensitive liquid resin, and mobile app to operate printer
- Partners – Include other 3D printing firms Zortrax, Photocentric which provided the resins, and 3DFilum
- Project Status – Project, still in early stages, was nominated as finalist at Purmundus Design Challenge 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany
