- Vaunt – Intel’s New Devices Group (NDG) developed prototype of Vaunt, augmented reality glasses that look like normal eyewear
- Initial Features – Uses low-power laser to directly project information onto retina and contains sensors, app processor, Android or iOS mobile app, and Bluetooth functionality, with targeted 18 hours battery life
- Comfortable Design – Will come in different styles and prescriptions upon launch, targeting less than 50 grams weight for comfortable everyday wear, with projected information adjustable to user’s pupil measurements
- Developer Release – Plans to release device to developers through early access program by late 2018
- Privacy-Enabled – Has no camera, speaker, and microphone (for now) unlike Google Glass, which received negative press for early users’ filming of people obtrusively, without permission
- Potential Applications – See restaurant information from Yelp while walking on street, as well as flight information when hands are occupied with luggage
