- Amazon Robotics Challenge – Amazon organizing third annual robotics challenge that will take place in Japan this July 2017, choosing 16 teams to participate in competition that offers $250,000 to team who can invent robots that can work in its fulfillment centers
- Competition Details – Participants will demo their robot software and hardware that recognizes objects, grab them, execute tasks, detect errors, and recover as needed, with scoring based on how many times robot efficiently picked and stowed items within specific amount of time
- New Robot System – Aims to find new robot system that can roam around warehouses and organize items more efficiently, potentially replacing current wheeled systems that carry and transport products inside its fulfillment centers
