  • Nationwide IoT Network – Telecom Italia, Italy's largest telecommunications carrier, will launch nationwide Internet-of-Things network by end of January 2018
  • Two Network Types – Network based on Long Term Evolution for Machines (LTE-M) and Narrowband-Internet-of-Things (NB-IoT) networks, designed for low-power devices that transmit few bits of data at a time
  • Other Countries’ Rollouts – Other telecom networks already rolled out 28 nationwide LTE-M and NB-IoT networks across 21 countries, including China, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Turkey, and U.S.
  • Supports Sleep Mode – Network lets devices go into sleep mode, saving battery life, and limits sending of data when devices are offline
