- New Security Tools – Microsoft introduced new security tools for Office 365 Home and Personal subscribers to protect files saved on OneDrive and e-mails in Outlook from cybercrime
- Ransomware Detection and File Restore – Detects when ransomware occurs, notifying user through email, mobile, or desktop, and walking user through process to recover files
- Password Protected Links – Links to OneDrive files or folders can be protected by password, barring access in case links get forwarded or shared to unauthorized parties
- E-mail Encryption and Forwarding – Provides end-to-end e-mail encryption for Outlook users so only intended users see e-mail, with option to block e-mail forwarding
- Link Checking in Office 365 Documents – Checks links in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, blocking access to links that contain malware or related to phishing scam
- Timeline – Ransomware detection and file restore rolling out beginning April 2018, while password protected links, e-mail encryption, and forwarding restrictions will be available by 2018 Q2, and advanced link checking on Office 365 documents will launch in 2018 H2
