- Autonomous Naval Vessels – Rolls Royce unveiled plans to develop autonomous naval vessel for selected single missions, including fleet screening, mine detection, and patrol and surveillance
- Vessel Specifications – 60 meter long, with displacement of 700 tons, and can reach speeds beyond 25 knots; able to perform mission for over 100 days covering 3,500 nautical mile range
- AI-Enabled System – Will utilize proprietary Intelligent Awareness System that incorporates artificial intelligence with multiple sensors for navigation, reinforced with other autonomous tools, such as Energy Management, Equipment Health Monitoring, and Predictive Maintenance Systems
- Supported by Renewable Energy Technologies – Will feature two Rolls Royce MTU 4000 series diesel engines that will drive propulsion system, supported by installed solar panels and 3,000 kWh of battery storage
- Potential Benefits – Aims to lower operation costs for scouting and patrols, reduce manpower required, and mitigate physical risks posed to crew in event of attack
