- 3D XPoint Technology – New kind of non-volatile memory (pronounced as cross point) able to store data even when power is down, and is 1,000 times faster than flash memory
- Improved Performance – Increases speed and load times of programs, improving system performance by 28% and storage performance up to 14 times faster
- Two Variants – To be released on April 24, and will come in 16 GB and 32 GB modules, priced at $44 and $77, respectively
- Partnership with Manufacturers – By 2017 Q2, PC manufacturers HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer and others will ship consumer and commercial products equipped with Intel Optane
