- Cloud Computing – Computing services (e.g. servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and analytics) delivered through Internet
- Efficient Cloud Implementation – 58% of IT cloud buyers in 2018 RightScale survey said they want to optimize existing cloud use, saving on costs, while 38% want to expand use of containers and 34% want to implement Continuous Integration and Delivery
- Expanded Cloud Use – Respondents also indicated expanded cloud use as top initiative, with 51% planning to move more workloads to cloud, 39% implementing cloud-first strategy, and 33% expanding public clouds use
- Other Initiatives – Better financial reporting (44%) and automation (42%) other top cloud initiatives selected by IT cloud buyers
- Key Growth Drivers – Include rising trend of companies digitizing business processes, rapidly emerging new entrants in cloud computing space, and increasing client demand for lower-cost public cloud solutions
